Located in Northville Michigan, Healing With Horses enjoys 70 acres of natural beauty that features several pastures, wild flower meadows, miles of trails, and an enclosed arena that includes the Zen Zone (classroom) for group discussions, guest speakers, round-up and round-down.
Healing With Horses was founded in 2022 when the need for emotional healing was met with an opportunity to utilize horses as part of a healing journey.
Sometimes, a moment of quiet and reflection can be beneficial to both human and horse.
Our participants form a strong and meaningful bond with our horses by working with their chosen horse week after week. The pair will work quietly on learning about each other and what the other may need, they will spend a lot of time doing ground work to deepen the relationship, and most times will end up riding their horse. We believe that through building this relationship, participants will learn more about themselves, build confidence, learn to trust, and ultimately feel some healing from whatever they may be struggling with.
Our Vision is to provide a safe place where overall well-being can evolve through the intentional use of social and emotional strategies, intertwined with meaningful interactions with our horses, leading to improved esteem, confidence, mindfulness, and joy.

She enjoys working with local youth and the transformation Healing with Horses has on them.
Susan Brown - Susan started riding horses at summer camp and taking lessons as a teenager. Years later she went on vacation at a dude ranch and her love of horses started all over again. From there, Susan ended up with a pick up truck, horse trailer and two reining horses. Showing evolved into western dressage and trail riding and she is now still riding her two senior horses. As a member of the Board of Directors for Growth Works her focus on helping children led her to Healing with Horses. She delights in sharing her years of knowledge and helping first time riders learn how to ride and connect with horses.
